CFR Cluj a câştigat al cincilea său titlu consecutiv de campioană a României la fotbal, și al optulea în total, duminică seara, după ce a învins-o pe Universitatea Craiova cu scorul de 2-1 (1-0), pe teren propriu, într-un meci din etapa a 9-a, penultima, a fazei play-off a Ligii I.

Echipa antrenată de Dan Petrescu are patru puncte avans faţă de principala sa urmăritoare, FCSB, înaintea ultimei etape din play-off. La finalul sezonului regulat, CFR avea 14 puncte în plus faţă de FCSB.

CFR Cluj şi-a trecut astfel în palmares al optulea titlu de campioană, după cele din 2008, 2010, 2012, 2018, 2019, 2020 şi 2021.

Ardelenii au deschis scorul rapid în meciul cu Universitatea, prin ghanezul Bismark Adjei-Boateng (2), dintr-o poziţie suspectă de ofsaid, la lovitura liberă executată de Ciprian Deac. Atacantul croat Gabriel Debeljuh a majorat diferenţa (57), după o eroare gravă a fundaşului Valerică Găman. Universitatea a marcat prin Alexandru Mateiu (61), un un şut din drop din marginea careului, după o minge respinsă de apărarea gazdelor la un corner. Oaspeţii au căutat egalarea, dar nu au reuşit să îşi creeze ocazii clare de gol.

CFR are patru victorii consecutive în play-off, în timp ce Universitatea a pierdut al treilea meci la rând (două în campionat, unul în Cupa României) şi patru partide din ultimele cinci jocuri în campionat şi cupă.
