Conform L’Equipe, 600 de membri ai forţelor de ordine vor fi desfăşuraţi în jurul stadionului Pierre-Mauroy din Villeneuve-d’Ascq.
Iniţial, securitatea meciului trebuia să fie furnizată de 3 unităţi mobile ale Jandarmeriei franceze, fiecare cu câte 80 de jandarmi, însă numărul acestora a fost dublat cu ajutorul efectivelor locale.
Nu există preocupări speciale legată de situaţia din tribune, chiar dacă sunt aşteptaţi 1.700 de scoţieni. Meciul nu a fost clasificat drept unul de risc ridicat de către Divizia naţională de luptă împotriva huliganismului.
Ambele echipe şi-au asigurat calificarea la EURO 2024.
