Pentru jucătoarea din România este al zecelea trofeu al carierei în proba de dublu și primul alături de ucraineanca Nadia Kicenok.
Favoritele 1 ale competiției din Rusia s-au impus după o oră și 22 de minute în fața favoritelor 2.
Olaru și Kicenok au pierdut categoric primul set, cu 2-6, dar și l-au adjudecat pe cel secund cu 6-3.
În super tiebreak, perechea româno-ucraineană a fost condusă cu 2-0, 4-1, 6-3, dar a revenit spectaculos și a reușit egalarea, 6-6. Olaru și Kicenok au fost conduse apoi cu 7-6, dar au reușit să se desprindă la 9-7. Au ratat prima minge de meci, nu însă și pe a doua. Au încheiat tiebreak-ul și meciul cu 10-8.
Pentru acest trofeu, Olaru şi Kicenok au primit un cec de 25.230 de dolari şi 470 de puncte WTA la dublu.
Pentru Raluca și Nadia urmează turneul WTA de la Miami, ele având avion spre Statele Unite la 3 ore după încheierea finalei din Rusia.
Raluca Olaru și-a trecut în palmares al zecelea trofeu la dublu, ea având și alte 11 finale jucate, ultimele două anul trecut la Praga (alături de Monica Niculescu) şi Roma.
Ultimul titlu la dublu al Ralucăi Olaru data din 2018, la Rabat, alături de rusoaica Ana Blinkova.
Raluca Olaru a câştigat titluri la Taşkent în 2008 (alături de ucraineanca Olga Savciuk) şi în 2016 (alături de turcoaica Ipek Soylu), la Acapulco în 2011 (alături de ucraineanca Maria Koritţeva), la Nurnberg în 2013 (alături de rusoaica Valeria Solovieva), la Linz în 2014 (alături de americanca de origine georgiană Anna Tatishvili), în 2017 la Hobart (alături de Savciuk) şi Bucureşti (alături de Irina Begu), în 2018 alături de rusoaica Ana Blinkova la Rabat şi alături de Mihaela Buzărnescu la Strasbourg, iar acum la Sankt Petersburg alături de Nadia Kicenok.
