Ambasadorul Israelului în România, David Saranga, a organizat joi, la reşedinţa sa, un eveniment dedicat comemorării Holocaustului, la care l-a invitat să-şi spună povestea pe unul dintre supravieţuitorii lagărelor Germaniei naziste, Octavian Fulop.
“Astăzi, ziua de amintire a Holocaustului în Israel, onorăm memoria celor 6 milioane de evrei umiliţi, torturaţi şi ucişi în urmă cu opt decenii. (…) Anul acesta se împlinesc 80 de ani de la începutul operaţiunilor de ucidere în masă a evreilor. Memoria rămâne vie doar dacă o persoană o transformă în ceva relevant pentru sine. (…) Astăzi am organizat acest eveniment special, ‘Zikaron BaSalon’, care se traduce prin ‘Amintiri din sufragerie’. Într-un cadru intim, un supravieţuitor al Holocaustului este invitat să îşi spună povestea pentru ca memoria acestei tragedii să fie transmisă mai departe generaţiilor tinere. Povestea sa este despre un trecut teribil pe care noi avem datoria să îl aducem mai departe”, a spus Saranga.

Octavian Fulop, supravieţuitor al lagărelor de concentrare şi exterminare ale Germaniei naziste, a evocat momentele grele prin care a trecut în anii Holocaustului. Acesta este originar din Transilvania, iar când a ajuns în lagăr era copil, avea 13 ani şi jumătate. Părinţii lui au murit în acele lagăre.
“Pentru mine acest eveniment a fost un dezastru. Am pierdut părinţii, am pierdut rudele, am pierdut prietenii, singurul din toată familia mea, nu ştiu câţi sunt, 50 – 60, sunt singurul supravieţuitor care a fost în lagăr. (…) Am realizat o familie, am un fiu, am doi nepoţi, soţia am pierdut-o anul trecut după 66 de ani de căsătorie. Una din marile mele mândrii e că sunt contemporan al renaşterii poporului meu din cenuşă, ăsta e un lucru mare, că după două milenii s-a refăcut Statul Israel, visul nostru milenar, sigur, prin jertfă mare a fiilor săi, din care foarte mulţi au dat jertfa supremă. Acest cămin al nostru pe care îl avem astăzi ocupă un loc mândru în marea familie a popoarelor şi ne asigură că ce s-a întâmplat, acea crimă odioasă, Holocaustul, unicul în istoria omenirii, nu se va mai putea întâmpla”, a afirmat Fulop.

El a menţionat că din Transilvania de Nord au fost deportaţi circa 140.000 de evrei, din care au supravieţuit 10%, iar la ora actuală în România mai sunt 25 de supravieţuitori ai lagărelor germane.
“Mi s-a pus întrebarea dacă atunci când eram în lagăr mi-am pierdut sau nu mi-am pierdut credinţa. Credinţa nu am pierdut-o niciodată în Dumnezeu. (…) Am avut convingerea că voi supravieţui. Veneau femei la sârma ghimpată, care era încărcată cu curent electric şi puneau mâna şi se sinucideau. Foarte multe sinucideri erau, dar niciodată nu mi-am pus problema să mă sinucid, nici în cele mai grele condiţii, copil fiind. M-a ajutat Dumnezeu şi niciodată nu am fost singur, întotdeauna am avut un fel de echipă, colectiv, şi după eliberare şi înainte de eliberare. Asta era salvarea. Dacă eşti singur eşti pierdut, eram convins”, a spus Octavian Fulop.

Întrebat dacă i-a iertat pe cei care au făcut acele atrocităţi, Fulop a răspuns: “În acel moment, când eram acolo, pierzi părinţii, pierzi rudele, pierzi prietenii, şi nu în orice fel, prin gazare, nevinovaţi, ei nu au morminte (…), sigur că în acea judecată, spun ce am simţit în acel moment, după eliberare aveam o ură în mine, să fiu sincer. Acum judec altfel. La ora actuală nu pot considera vinovat întregul popor german. (…) Dar cei care au ordonat, cei care au fost călăi, pe aceştia nu îi pot ierta niciodată, toată viaţa. Adică sunt oameni nevinovaţi, dar pe cei care au fost călăi, cei care au dat ordin, că şi călăul a mers pe baza unui ordin, asta nu am putut ierta şi nu iert. Pentru mine e imposibil”.
