Asociația Voluntarilor Invictus România organizează, în 14 mai 2023, prima ediție a concursului de bicicletă „Cupa Bujorului Românesc”. Evenimentul are loc cu ocazia Zilei Bujorului Românesc – Floare Națională, cu scopul “de a promova sportul de masă, spiritul de voluntariat, cauza Invictus și Bujorul Românesc, dar și a valorilor naționale și a eroilor de ieri și de astăzi.”
Probele din cadrul concursului sunt destinate tuturor categoriilor de persoane: adulți, seniori, persoane cu dizabilitați (cu mențiunea că acestea trebuie să fie apte pentru parcurgerea unui traseu de trail pe bicicletă).
Concursul are loc în localitatea Comana, Județul Giurgiu și în Parcul Natural Comana, fiind format din două probe: cursa de 26 Km și cursa de 36 Km.
Toate cursele vor avea ca punct de start Strada Prelungirea Neajlovului, Comana, Giurgiu și se vor desfășura pe trasee de 26/36 km, care se vor încheia în același punct.
Proiectul Invictus a început în cadrul Ministerului Apărării Naționale, când un voluntar de-ai noștri a descoperit inițiativa Prințului Harry al Marii Britanii și s-a gândit că și luptătorii români răniți în teatrele de operații trebuie să ia parte la acest proiect de recuperare fizică și psihică prin intermediul sportului. Sintagma cu care proiectul Invictus a debutat în România este „Sacrificiul Înseamnă Respect”.
